Join the College of Architecture Spring 2018 Lecture Series, DISTANCE, MONDAY, APRIL 9TH, at the College of Architecture Gallery, Time: 4:00PM for the Lecture of CRISTIANE MUNIZ, principal of UNA Arquitetos in São Paulo, Brazil.

Cristiane Muniz received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in architecture from the University of São Paulo - School of Architecture and Urbanism. She is currently faculty at the Escola da Cidade and has taught and participated as a critic at the University of Buenos Aires, the Universidad Presbiteriana Mackenzie, and The University of Texas at Austin.

Muniz is a founding partner of UNA Arquitetos, established in 1996 together with Fábio Valentim, Fernanda Barbara, and Fernando Viégas. Their projects range from many scales and programs that contribute the interaction and development of urban projects, schools, cultural centers, commercial facilities, residential projects, and social housing.UNA has been published in PLOT, A+U, GA Houses, summa+, Wallpaper, Domus, ARCH+, and the Phaidon Atlas of 21st Century Architecture.

UNA Arquitetos has received many awards that include the Brazilian Institute of Architect Award, fifth and seventh International Architecture Biennial of São Paulo award, and the prestigious Carlos Barajas Milan award in 2008 for their "Nueva Estacion Piqueria" project. Their work has also been exhibited in places such as the Venice Architecture Biennale at the Arsenal Pavilion in Venice, Italy, and the international exhibition "Colectiva - Arquitectura Paulista Contemporânea" that traveled across many cities around the world. Most recently, UNA was nominated for the 2017/2018 Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize.
