Students:

Bengie Daniels, Keith Kelly, Andy Nastoupil, Steve Zoerner

Project Description:

The 2002 competition focused on a common subject for all entries, the design of a regional airport with up to 24 gates using steel Hollow Structural Sections (HSS) combining the traditional functions of an airport with today's heightened requirements for security and efficiency. The Design & Engineering Challenge was developed to help educate students about the unique benefits and uses of HSS. The Challenge has encouraged multi-disciplinary teams of students to work together to complete projects.
