Studio Statement Collective Entity
- This studio is focused on the creation of architecture as a Collective Entity, comprised of various interwoven and colliding systems/sub-systems, which serve functional and poetic aims simultaneously.
- At the outset of the studio, students will be responsible for eschewing notions of the singular in favor of the manifold. Rather than nurture outdated design philosophies dealing with a singular all-encompassing concept, this studio will cultivate multiple conceptual/thematic approaches at all times, fostering and enforcing the idea that architecture is devoid of singular authorship and comprehensive at its core.
- The studio will additionally focus on the formulation of design strategies with specific, multifaceted, functional aims. Inclusive strategies will be developed integrating multiple systems to create a comprehensive project rich with both literal and phenomenal depth. Strategies like these will be used consistently in the future to gain ground environmentally, and develop architecture where there otherwise would be none.
