Help:Creating Event ListingsFrom TTU College of ArchitectureAny wiki page can be referenced as an event page simply by adding the event category tag into the page. Tags appearing anywhere on the page will be displayed at the bottom of the page. Individual pages for events can be created--like a page for a lecture with the associated information. For this event to appear in the site Events listing on the events page, the page must include the following. [[Category:Events]] Then in order to specify when the event is to be held (dates are entered YYYY/MM/DD): Hours are entered in HH/MM format with hours specified in military time Military time: 0 is Midnight Date only: [[Category:2009/08/20]] Date and Time: [[Category:2009/08/20-10/00]] Start date and time and ending date and time [[Category:2009/08/20-10/00:2009/08/20-12/30]] Enter recurring events by placing the category tag in the page for each occurrence. For clarity in the calendar listing it is best to have single pages for each event. References to them can be grouped on a common page—see Faculty Scholarship Symposia as an example—but the Category tags should be placed only on the event pages. [[Category:2009/08/20-10/00:2009/08/20-12/30]] [[Category:2009/08/22-10/00:2009/08/22-12/30]] Other tags that appear in the events page are Location and Calendar tags. The location tag provides the ability to specify information about the event location. The Calendar Tag allows the event to be associated with one of the subscription calendars on the site. This will allow the event to be pushed through to subscribed readers of that calendar. Subscription calendars are: COLLEGE, COMMUNITY, and STUDENTS. See Texas Tech College of Architecture for the subscription links. Examples of these tags are: Location: (Please be as specific as possible with the location name—avoid abbreviations) [[Location:Huckabee_Student_Lounge]] Calendar Tag: (Subscription tags are COLLEGE, COMMUNITY, and STUDENTS) [[Tag:COLLEGE]] |
