ECO-building ENVELOPE

Surface & geometry related to the mathematical development of complex surface geometry and the computational programming (NSF proposal 05_2010, Co-P.I. –Pongratz, P.I. Perbellini)> surface geometry

Surface materials & sustainability:

a. NANO: Integrated material system for environmentally responsive building skins, which considers energy and resources. Adaptive Material Systems for Scalable Building Envelope Components (NSF SEED proposal 11_2009, P.I. -Pongratz) > surface nano material

b. MICRO: Material research & development related to fiber composites (glas, carbon, cotton and other fibers). Dynamic Skin (MS ddf research, Rob Diaz, Dung Do 2010, advisor Pongratz) > surface micro material

Surface & assembly related to the design of structural load bearing envelopes conditioned by surface geometry of standard and non standard components. Materials stone, masonry, timber, concrete and composites. (collaboration with Prof. Harald Kloft, University of Kaiserslautern, Guggenheim fellowship proposal, 2010, by Pongratz-Perbellini; TTU enrichment grant 2007, P.I. -Pongratz)> surface assembly
